Rabid

Anger
A mainstay emotion,
Love does not exist without hate,
Nor does heaven without Hell.
I still do not understand why hurt and lies come into my life everyday.
Trust belongs to no one but myself,
Trust no one, love no one.
Hate and anger are constant companions.
It is with them I run,
A pack of rabid wolves
In search of prey to cut down.
A bloodied Mass.
Scarlet ribbons in our hair
Running ourselves to the point of no return.
Lessons of life teach me well
And all you have taught me
Is that love is nothing but a word.
It does not exist,
Nor did it ever.
A façade of smiling faces and passing lovers.
But they, like the night, are gone by morning.
Hate and anger keep me warm at night.
They are my partners now.
Sex with them is violent and hot.
Gentleness is weakness.
Violence takes its toll, leaving me weary.
As always it never changes,
Staying with me forever.
I feel no love, no kindness,
They gave me nothing.
Nothing but heartbreak and a heavy heart,
I cannot forgive, nor can I forget.
